Saturday 8th August sees the opening of the
Salemi Art Festival. Adaptly called in Italian “Contemplazioni” in English
“Contemplations” the festival will take place over the month of August with
various artistic shows, exhibitions and music.
The Salemi Art Festival opens Saturday at 7pm in the Salemi
castle, Piazza Alicia, with an exhibition of Gianfranco Ferroni’s work,
followed by the presentation of the author Antonio Gnoli’s book “La Luce
dell’Ateo” and later a jam-session by Sicilian jazz player Nicola
Giammarinaro.All free entry.
During the next month exhibits of the artists such as Gianfranco
Ferroni, Piero Guccione, Lino Frongia, Klaus Karl Mehrkens, Cy Twombly, Tonio
Trzebinzki, Aaron Demetz, Jenny Saville, Alberto Ziveri and Enrico D’Assia
will be held in the castle
